CHARLES LEITH LTD
New Forest, Hampshire

1923 MG J2 TWO SEAT SPORTS
Chassis No: J2731
Engine No: 1162AJ
Registration No: XJ 5168
ONE OWNER 54 years – a Mr. Peter Bloomfield of Cambridge from 1957-2011 – car found derelict in a Herefordshire farmyard in 1957 – photos show – and he finally restored this fabulous car between 1995 and 1999, then enjoyed the car for only 796 miles before selling to the previous owner to the present owner.
“The chassis was stripped bare – and the original scuttle, bonnet, cycle wings, petrol tank, radiator, and wheels have been re-used, as well as the running gear and engine. A new Ash frame was built – photo shows – and clad in aluminium.
The whole car is original with the exception of the frame, upholstery, and paint.”
A restoration account is written up in the MG Octagon Car Club March 2000 Bulletin, on file
Registered 6/1/33
Chassis J2731
Engine 1162 AJ
V5C Registration number XJ 5168
RF60 1952 brown log book
J2731 was delivered to J Cockshoot & Co and purchased by Mr. F S Crossland of Southwood, Hargate Drive, Hale, Altrincham, Greater Manchester, Cheshire on the 11th January 1933, via Grosvenor Garage of Burnage Lane, Levenshulme, Manchester, telephone Rusholme 886. Southwood House is a 6-bed house currently on Rightmove at £1.9 million, so Mr. Crossland was a well-to-do first purchaser of this car. A postcard is on file from the first owner to the MG Car Co requesting a certificate of guarantee and an instruction book
Purchased earlier this year by a collector - I have known for 20 plus years - with a wide variety of pre-war cars, he had specifically intended to take this car on a fairly quick tour of the Alps, down to Italy and back. In the event, he decided to buy a rather faster machine. As a result, this car is now offered for sale – in excellent all round condition having travelled just 1275 miles since restoration
Modification : 12” P-type MG drum brakes fitted. Smaller originals accompany the car
New set Blockley 4.50 x 19” tyres – August 2014
Seats re-trimmed 2014
New Temperature gauge 2014
New ignition switch 2014
Halogen headlamp bulbs 2014
Headlamps – new glass, rims re-chromed and reflectors re-silvered 2014

ASTON MARTIN DB4GT ZAGATO SANCTION 2 - RICHARD STEWART WILLIAMS LTD Protech House Copse Road Co

RICHARD STEWART WILLIAMS LTD

ASTON MARTIN DB4GT ZAGATO SANCTION 2

At the London Motor Show in 1960, the DB4GT chassis was offered with very special lightweight, two-seater bodywork built by Zagato.
Nineteen of these fabulous cars were produced and are now the most desirable road-legal Astons ever.
In 1987, Peter Livanos and Victor Gauntlett, the Joint Chairmen of Aston Martin Lagonda Limited, with the agreement of Zagato, sanctioned the build of four works approved DB4GT Zagato coupes using unused chassis from the earlier cars. DB4GT/0192, DB4GT/0196, DB4GT/0197 and DB4GT/0198 were subsequently produced.
The factory decreed that these works-approved models be known as the ‘Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato Sanction 2′

Richard Williams and RS Williams Ltd were commissioned to build the Sanction 2 cars.
To ensure the bodies were identical to the original cars, Richard Williams sent his own car to Italy for patterns to be made.
All four completed cars were unveiled at RS Williams premises in Cobham on the 22nd July 1991
The Sanction 2 cars are virtually indistinguishable from the original DB4GT Zagatos apart from some minor but significant modifications.
– Chassis strengthening to improve torsional rigidity
– Engine capacity increase from 3670cc to 4212cc with Weber 50DC01/SP carburettors (replacing 45DCOE’s) developing 352bhp (up from 314bhp)
– Wishbone independent front suspension with co-axial spring/damper units and thicker anti-roll bar
– Live rear axle with coil springs and double-acting telescopic dampers, located by parallel trailing links and a Watts linkage
– Borrani 15’x 6’ wheels
– Four-speed David Brown gearbox, limited-slip differential with 3.07:1 final drive ratio
– 35 gallon (159 litre) fuel tank

The enhancements allowed 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds and 100MPH achieved in 12.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 153mph.
Upon completion Victor Gauntlett said: “The quality and authenticity are outstanding and each of these four cars will bear the most detailed comparison with the first 19 built. It is also important that Zagato have wholeheartedly approved the project”.
In no way can the Sanction 2 cars be seen as mere copies. They are absolutely accurate examples only separated by a period of 30 years from the first batch of cars. At the time of their unveiling, Victor Gauntlett described them as ‘works approved replicas’ as the project was blessed by both AML and Zagato.
Offered for sale, DB4GT/0192 is resplendent in its original RSW Green and black interior having covered 9,253 miles from new.
Please contact for further details on this very special car.

1925 WOLSELEY 1300 11 1.2 2dr
AMAZING TIME WARP BARN FIND

"One of the most important finds for the Wolseley club for years" This amazing time warp Wolseley was purchased by the last owner in 1971 as shown on the old type log book. The car has remained in north Wales for its whole life and retains its original 'UN' number. Red, It was brought to us by a good customer who purchased the car from a family member. It hadn't run for at least 20 years so we undertook a light recommissioning. The magneto has been rebuilt at great expense and the oil and fuel system fully flushed out and cleaned. A new battery has been fitted and the car now starts on the button. Further work will be required to get the car mechanically ready for the road although clutch, gears and brakes all seem in relatively good health.,, The body and chassis are in incredible condition with just the paintwork showing its age. All gauges are present as is the soft top and side screen.,, This is a very rare car with just a handful known to the Wolseley register.,, I have many photos of the car which can be emailed to genuinely interested parties on request., OPEN 7 DAYS!! ## FULL STOCK DETAILS & 30+ PHOTOS OF EACH CAR AT OUR WEBSITE ##, £20,000, This is an imported vehicle
