1923 FORD MODEL T -CLASSIC & SPORTSCAR CENTRE

1923 FORD MODEL T TOURER

This very rare French four door Model T was built in 1923. On arrival of the chassis in France, Paris coach builder Henry Binder built this four door Torpedo body. The first owner was Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Bordeaux.
We sold this wonderful motor car to its last owner in 2009, a pre-war enthusiast based in Stoke on Trent. Prior to delivering the Ford to him six years ago, our workshop stripped and rebuilt the engine. A photo record of the work is with the vehicle's history file. Over the past six years the car has been treated as a museum piece on only driven on a handful of occasions. It was transported back to us in 2011 for a full service and MOT and further work to include re-conditioning the speedo drive and stripping and setting the carburettor. Since the engine rebuild just a few miles have been completed and as a result the unit is in excellent order.
In 2009 we imported the Model T from Germany. It had been with the same owner since 1975, a Graf of Germany, similar to an Earl. His family are collectors of historic motoring, antiques and general history. On original purchase in 1975, the family had the Model T restored and have kept a comprehensive history since. The Model T has attended many Concours D'Elegance and has been used as a real museum piece. Newspaper cut outs of these appearances are with the history.
The Ford presents very well and has been beautifully re-trimmed with red leather upholstery. The interior is in outstanding condition, as is the hood. The body work is strong; the paintwork of a very good standard with a gleaming finish and the car has many original features such as the rear luggage case, brass pulp horn, brass step plates and kerosene lamps. The Model T drives very well with an excellent engine and gearbox and will be supplied with a full 12 months MOT, fresh service and function check.
This is a real piece of motoring history and whether the car is kept as an exhibition piece or toured and rallied, it should prove a pleasure to own.

1958 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE

Volkswagen Beetle - Type 1 Highly Original - Low Mileage

The Volkswagen Beetle is perhaps one of the most iconic cars in existence, having been manufactured between the years of 1938 and 2003. During this time, in excess of 21 million vehicles were completed, which makes the Beetle both the most produced and longest running vehicle the world has seen. The VW Beetle was initially designed in the 1930's and the Type 1 was conceived by a group led by Ferdinand Porsche. Today the Beetle is an extremely collectible and highly sought-after car and with a magnitude of variations in existence, the early Type 1 cars have become the most desirable.
The Type 1, which is based on Porsche's original "Prototype 1" model has a 1,192 CC 4 cylinder engine, which produces 36 BHP. A single solex carburettor is present, with a 4 speed manual gearbox, 4 wheel hydraulic drum brakes and 4 wheel independent suspension with torsion bars. In 1957, Volkswagen made the decision to enlarge the rear window of the Beetle, which meant that the 1958 models were fitted with the new rectangular window. This made the car much more "driver friendly".
This particular LHD Type 1 model was completed in 1958 and is a desirable European specification example. Being a 1958 car, it has been fitted with a revised instrument panel, redesigned dashboard and the larger rectangular rear window, which replaced the older oval shaped windows. In addition, this example benefits from the later wider brake drums and shoes, improved and more durable clutch release assembly and the improved 3rd and 4th gear ratios, which together make this Beetle an extremely well driving example.
The car is very original and is presented in superb condition, finished in Blue with a Grey and Blue interior combination. It is understood that the car retains most of the original finishes and there are approximately 12,000 kilometres shown on the odometer, believed to be the total mileage the car has covered from new. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a rare, highly sought after, early example that is extremely well preserved and presented in outstanding condition. This car is guaranteed the status of "icon" in automotive circles. The car is currently in the UK and available for viewing at our showrooms based just outside London

2005 FERRARI 575 SUPERAMERICA F1 - HEXAGON CLASSICS

CLASSIC OF THE DAY
FROM

2005 FERRARI 575 SUPERAMERICA F1
Ferrari first used the Superamerica name on the 410 model that premiered at the Brussels Salon in 1956. From that point on, the name would be associated with Ferrari’s flagship models, the grandest of tourers that were destined for the carriage houses of captains of industry, A-list celebrities, and various heads of state. Superamericas offered world-beating performance with the highest available degree of luxury, and they became renowned as amongst the most desirable automobiles that money could buy. The final 400 Superamerica was produced in 1964, and with it, the Superamerica name ceased in usage for over four decades. It was a legendary moniker that was considered the ultimate by its “Tifosi”
In 2005, the fabled name returned on a limited-edition convertible that had been beautifully drawn by Pininfarina with lines that perfectly complemented the personality of the car. Rather than fitting the Superamerica with a conventional folding soft top, Ferrari chose a special “Revocromico” roof, which was crafted of electrochromatic glass and carbon fibre. With the push of a button, the roof would rotate away in less than 10 seconds, opening the interior to the air, with the rear window remaining in place to function as a wind deflector. If the weather was not favorable, the level of tint in the glass could be adjusted to allow the full brightness of a conventional sunroof, with as little as 1% of available sunlight, into the cabin. Unlike most retractable hardtops, the 575 Superamerica’s roof panel rested on the rear deck when in the open position, leaving plenty of room for a week’s luggage in the trunk.
Our magnificent Ferrari Superamerica was supplied new by Garage Foitek AG on the 24th October 2005 to M Pessidon, whom commissioned the car to be built to the following specification: Exterior: Grigio Ingrid (720) Interior: Cuoio Hide (4609) Carpets: Nero (152) Factory Fitted Options include:
  • Allumminum Brake Calipers
  • Instrument Panel, Rosso
  • Satellite Navigation
  • High Power Hi Fi
  • 6 CD Changer
  • Colored Stitching
The Ferrari has covered only 388 miles (625 klm) from new with complete authorized factory servicing from new. Our car has completed a fresh service with all safety checks carried out by an Official Ferrari Factory Service Centre some 26 miles (43 klm) ago.
A unique opportunity to acquire this rare and limited production motorcar which is now available for immediate inspection at our central London showrooms.
