 FIAT 600D MULTIPLA 6 Seater
LEFT HAND DRIVE

The Fiat Multipla was introduced in the spring of 1956 and was based on the Fiat 600 drive train. The 600 Multipla was the people carrier version & could carry up to 8 people so were popular with Italian Taxi drivers. The Multipla changed very little between 1956 and 1966 when production ended. In 1960 the engine size increased from 633cc to 767cc increasing power from 21.5 to 29 BHP, this model became the 600D as offered for sale here. The gearbox was a 4 speed with synchromesh on all gears except first. Top speed became 65mph and returned an average of around 38 mpg. Production numbers were 76,871 for the 600 and 83,389 for the 600D. They were the first ever MPVs that we all know and take for granted today!

These models are very popular worldwide and are ever increasing in value. A good Multipla is not only a pleasure to drive but a great investment opportunity.

We are extremely pleased to present this very original 1963 600D Multipla 6 seater finished in correct period Fiat Azzurro (light blue) under Avorio (ivory) paintwork with the original Abbronzatura (tan) over Avorio period interior with the original black plastic full floor coverings still in place.

It appears from the cars history that this is a matching numbers car and that the current mileage of just 40,114 (64,558km) is believed correct. There have been just 3 previous owners in Italy and one in the UK, where it is fully registered and MOT tested, since arriving here in 2015.

The last Italian long term keeper owned the vehicle for 20 years from 1995. She is apparently a classic enthusiast & had used the car very sparingly over the last 20 years, mainly for club outings in the latter years. There are photographs on file of the car outside her home in Maserada Sul Piave, which is a commune in the province of Treviso, where the car was originally first registered in 1963.

This stunning classic is an ASI (Automoto Club Storico Italiano) registered example and comes complete with its ASI passport, stamped & signed by the ASI president. This means the vehicle has never been modified and is to the correct specification as it left the factory in 1963.

The only works to have been conducted we understand was a full external repaint in the original period colours to an exceptional standard in 1995 prior to getting it Automotoclub Storico Italiano registered the same year. There is a beautiful picture of it after the repaint in the ASI passport and it looks very fresh and pleasing to the eye. The panel fit is still excellent, all the floors and panels look correct and are all still in excellent structural condition. This must surely be one of the most honest examples that still exist and most probably the nicest in the UK.

Nothing has been covered up or patched up over the years with this car. Since the restoration 20 years ago the car has weathered very well showing only a very light patina, commensurate with its age, which makes it all the more lovable. It starts on the button, pulls strong through all the gears and stops well too, in fact, it's that good you could actually use it for everyday use as well as being perfect family transportation to the Goodwood Revival or any top classic event worldwide!

The history file that accompanies this vehicle contains, Italian Carta Di Circolazione Per Autovettura, (the original blue log book), original Italian Automobile Club D'Italia Certificato Di Proprietra, ASI (Automoto Club Storico Italiano) Membership & signed passport, ASI regulations book, Current UK MOT, a small maintenance log & invoices, specialist parts invoices and detailed photos showing the car in Italy, there is also a tool kit, jack and spare wheel.

we will add a couple of videos to the website soon of the vehicle on the road
