Every year in the UK there are 150,000 cases of Sepsis, resulting in a staggering 44,000 deaths – more than bowel, breast and prostate cancer combined.

The UK Sepsis Trust (UKST) was established as a charity in 2012 with the objective of saving 12,500 lives every year. We are committed to changing the way the NHS deals with Sepsis, to increase public awareness and supporting those affected by Sepsis. Every penny you donate is valuable in helping us achieve our goals, together we can help to mend Sepsis.

1972 FORD ESCORT RS1600

A stunning example of the rarely seen mark 1 Ford Escort RS1600, finished in factory Le Mans green with the rarely seen RS1800 scheel seats.
One step up from the Mexico, the Escort 'RS1600' was developed using an engine that was essentially a detuned Formula 3 unit designated BDA (Belt Drive 'A' Series). Both the Mexico and RS1600 were built simultaneously at the now famous Ford Advanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) facility located at the Aveley Plant in South Essex. As well as higher performance engines and sports suspension, these models featured strengthened body shells, making them ideal for rallying.

This particular example was subject to a full bare metal restoration around seven years ago and boasts its original wings, doors, boot, bonnet, back panel and bumpers. The shell is the original type 49 shell, and the engine was completely rebuilt by Stephen Patton Motorsport in Newtownards.
The car is as bright and detailed underneath as it is elsewhere, while all shut lines appear excellent and the car sits squarely on its Rs wheels. It is currently a 1700cc and running with Bd3 cams.
An extensive history folder comes with the car, with numerous photo's to represent the level of restoration work completed.
Viewing recommended, please call for further details.
Please feel free to give us a call, for an honest overview of this vehicle.
Personal presentation video available on request.
