1973 PORSCHE 911 2.4S
A superb left-hand drive matching numbers example supplied new in the fantastic period colour of Tangerine with a black interior featuring Recaro seats with lovely houndstooth inserts. The car is in excellent order throughout and drives beautifully following an extensive renovation programme only recently completed.
Originally supplied to the Italian market, this 2.4 S was ordered without sunroof and with manual windows. After many years in Italian ownership, the car was purchased by a Dutch enthusiast, in 1998. Following its arrival in the Netherlands, the Porsche was dispatched to a specialist for a full inspection and report, a copy of which is on file. This showed the car to be in good remarkably original order with some areas requiring attention. Over the next few years, a great deal of work was completed as indicated by the many invoices on file from a Dutch Porsche main dealer and specialists.

In 2002 the Dutch owner sold the car to a British enthusiast, a letter on file confirms the sale and documents the extensive work completed whilst the car was in The Netherlands. Now in London, the Porsche continued to be very well looked after and maintained with a vast number of invoices from Porsche specialist Leigh’s Garage in Fulham.
Although in good usable order it was decided in 2013 that the car would benefit from some restoration. To this end, the car was stripped down and the drivetrain removed, this work and the engine rebuild being completed by respected specialists R and D Automotive in Manchester. Invoices on file show the engine was fully rebuilt with new old stock Mahle pistons. Meanwhile, the body shell was stripped and refinished in the original shade of Tangerine. Following reassembly, the car was dispatched to marque experts Autofarm for completion. Invoices and photographs on file document the extensive, very detailed work completed. This included a gearbox rebuild, suspension struts and setup, engine detail, new salt/pepper carpet, wheel refurbishment and a myriad of fine detail work. A newly refurbished period Becker Grand Prix radio and matching Cocomat overmats provide the icing on the cake!
Following this work, we sold the Porsche to a frequent customer and friend of Hairpin where it joined his enviable private collection of high-quality cars. He has used and maintained the car very carefully during his tenure and today the little Porsche presents itself in superb condition throughout. It is very well sorted and drives beautifully, clear evidence of extensive fettling by those who know. It comes complete with an extensive history file documenting work completed over the years and original toolkit.
