For anyone looking for what we consider to be the ultimate original unrestored Riley RME, then this car has to be right up there as one of and quite possibley very best examples available. To make it even more exciting single family owned from new and affectionately known as grandad's car. Supplied new by Clarks garage in Peterborough, the owners were themselves Rootes agents so naturally the car has always been well cared for from day one by the right people -bringing the total recorded mileage to date to a mere 43,000 miles

Being such a low mileage unrestored example this naturally translates in the way the doors all fit and open and close with that solid factory click. Steering is sharp and precise, and more recently fitted with new Michelin radial tyres all round including the spare. Super silent twin cam Riley engine with upgraded oil filter, and a stainless steel long life exhaust fitted so no worries there. The coachwork has that real depth of shine that somehow only black can provide when it's this sharp. And the supple red leather upholstery provides the perfect combination when combined with the walnut dash, highly polished door cappings- and equipped with what must be the most stylish Art Deco smiths heater on the planet

With classic cars being looked upon more as works of art, it's these ultra rare highly prized original examples that stand out from the crowd, but finding them now is becoming increasingly difficult as so few like this one exist in such lovely preserved condition and always going to be worth more than a restored example.
