ROVER 3Litre P5 CONVERTIBLE by FLM Panelcraft £29,995
In Light Navy with mid blue leather interior
Registration number 500 CBY
A well known car in Rover circles, this one-off Drophead Coupe was
built by FLM Panelcraft in London on a new Mk11 3.0 litre for a Mr.
George Hansson, a Swedish Civil Engineer then living in the UK. He was a
friend of Rover's Technical Director, Peter Wilks and the car was taken
to Solihull for appraisal by the factory but they decided not to pursue
the idea. It cost nearly half as much again on the new saloon puchase
price to convert.
The Rover is a two door with four light bodywork. The roof folds
nicely and there is a tonneau cover, and the passnger seat folds forward
to gain access to the rear seats.
This unique car diasappeared for many years and was restored by Rover
specialist Richard Spratley in the early nineteen nineties. Its history
his well documented and has featured in a number of publications.. The
car is in very good condition and a must for any Rover collector. There
isn't another one!
In Cameron Green with Sandalwood fabric interior. This beautiful P6 3500 automatic has only covered 21,000 miles since
new. It was supplied by James Windsor and Son of Mansfield to Messrs
J.C. Bamford (the company behind JCB machinery) on 5th May 1976 via the
prestigious luxury car specialist William Loughran near Preston, whose
sticker remains in the rear window.
It was specially ordered with Gold plated fixtures and fittings along with power steering.
Apparently the car was with the Bamford collection until it was first registered in April 1983.
The original owner's book pack and manuals are in the file along with the Passport to Service book.
The car was sold to a Hong Kong based collector in 2010 with only 21,000 miles on the clock and with one registered owner.
It has now returned to the UK with all taxes paid and is UK registered.
This fine car is in outstanding original order with the interior being of particular note. It is untouched.

Chamonix white with a black vinyl interior. It is fitted with a 2.0
litre, four cylinder, 120 bhp engine with twin Solex carburettors and a
four speed manual gearbox.
This car is in very good, sound condition and has a superb, original
interior. It is an original right hand drive car supplied new to the UK.
The first family owners kept it until 2008 an it has two keepers
since. In May 2010 it was prepared for the Marathon Rally which included
thorough servicing and the fitment of full harness seat belts, the
originals come with the car, and a new Brantz trip recorder. It drove
nearly 2,000 miles without missing a bit save for a small hiccup with a
blocked fuel filter caused by very low fuel. The tank has since been
drained.
The car is mechanically standard. It was built in January 1968 and
registered in April 1968. It has MSA papers and is generally accepted
for competitions with cut off dates of December 1967 as it is identical
to similar cars produced in 1967.
It drives superbly and has a real turn of speed. Rare in this country.

The
2000 was the ultimate evolution of the 1500/1800cc saloon car line. The
medium-sized saloon seemed its most appealing with the bored-out
in-line-four under the bonnet, especially in fuel injected tii form,
which packed a useful 135bhp. Interesting to drive and a bit of a
handful in the wet, the 2000 set the tone for the next generations of
BMW’s mid-sized saloons – sporting and satisfying. Survival rate in the
UK is low, although still fairly commonplace in Germany, and that would
be your first place to look when buying.
