1926 SUNBEAM 3.0-LITRE SUPER SPORTS

Registration No: YN7831

This glorious Sunbeam 3.0-Litre Super Sports Tourer, YN 7831, campaigned and won the Essex Six-Hour race held at Brooklands in 1927, driven by George Duller.
One of two ‘Works’ entries to this race.  It was considered lost for some years but discovered on an airfield near Bristol after the War.  The original chassis was rebuilt in the 1960s using original Sunbeam 3.0-Litre parts.
A more than credible alternative to the Bentley 3.0-Litre, the Sunbeam is likely lesser-known, but infinitely rarer, superbly constructed, marginally quicker (!) and still a world-beater…
The engine was completely rebuilt and fitted with new block circa 1995.  After many years, numerous miles and countless fond memories this special Sunbeam is now offered from long-term ownership where it has been regularly and enthusiastically driven and cherished.
It is accompanied by two great tomes of history file with period photographs, original buff logbook, and records of considerable work undertaken during the last fifty years….
Available for viewing now at our premises near York.

1986 ASTON MARTIN AM V8 VANTAGE ZAGATO

Questions were asked wondering whether a V8 Zagato “could ever happen” and as not too much of a surprise, discussions by Victor Gauntlett and Peter Livanos were had with Elio and Gianna Zagato at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1984. A year later, the first production two seater since the DB4 GT was announced; with a limited run of just 50 cars, the Vantage Zagato was launched in 1985 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The example that we are delighted to be able to offer for sale is a 1986 matching numbers car, still presented in its original colour scheme of Lightning Silver with a Burgundy trim. With only 50 cars being produced, this being number 18, the V8 Zagato is an incredibly rare and desirable car that would make the perfect addition to any classic car collection. Of the 50 'production' cars built, only 27 of these were right-hand drive manual transmission models, much like the one that we are offering here.

1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Touring Limousine
1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Touring Limousine design number 8422, this is the only Silver Wraith to be built to this supremely elegant 4 light design. And this very car, chassis number DLW13, is pictured in Rolls-Royce The Elegance Continues on Page 106
The stunning coachwork is finished in Green over Cream with deep Green hide interior. The car received a chassis up restoration which was a joint project between two Rolls-Royce specialists in London, this was completed 5 years ago before the car was shipped to Sweden where it was owned and showed by the chairman of the Swedish section of the RREC, he frequently used the car for rallies over the summer and kept the car maintained to the highest possible standard.  We have known this wonderful motorcar since 1989, the owner was one, Mr Ceder Esq of Danver Street Mayfair, London. Whilst in Mr Ceder's ownership the car carried the registration number RH1, a gift from Sir Winston Churchill. This stunning motor car runs and drives beautifully being equipped with the larger 4.9-litre engine coupled to a smooth automatic gearbox. We fitted a hydraulic power steering system to the car a few years ago and thus it really does drive like a much later car.  Every element about this Silver Wraith is exceptional.

Mr Ceder was a great help to Sir Winston Churchill during the Second World War, converting all of his factories to produce armaments for the war effort. At the end of the war, Mr Ceder was called to Churchill's office where he was asked whether he would like something in reward for the work he had carried out. Churchill was under the impression Mr Ceder would ask for an OBE or Knighthood or an honour, however, Mr Ceder was a very modest gentleman. That said, he did love his Rolls-Royce so he asked Churchill for a special registration number, much obliged, Churchill managed to source for him RH 1 (Royal Highness 1) which proudly graced this Silver Wraith for many many years. Years later Rex Harrison offered Mr Ceder £1000,000 for this number plates, Mr Harrison was told that in no uncertain terms that his number would never be sold. Unfortunately, when Mr Ceder passed away the registration number was sold by his family. A great shame when considering how much history is attached to it.
This is probably the finest Silver Wraith one can buy.
