1926 SUNBEAM 3.0-LITRE SUPER SPORTS

Registration No: YN7831

This glorious Sunbeam 3.0-Litre Super Sports Tourer, YN 7831, campaigned and won the Essex Six-Hour race held at Brooklands in 1927, driven by George Duller.
One of two ‘Works’ entries to this race.  It was considered lost for some years but discovered on an airfield near Bristol after the War.  The original chassis was rebuilt in the 1960s using original Sunbeam 3.0-Litre parts.
A more than credible alternative to the Bentley 3.0-Litre, the Sunbeam is likely lesser-known, but infinitely rarer, superbly constructed, marginally quicker (!) and still a world-beater…
The engine was completely rebuilt and fitted with new block circa 1995.  After many years, numerous miles and countless fond memories this special Sunbeam is now offered from long-term ownership where it has been regularly and enthusiastically driven and cherished.
It is accompanied by two great tomes of history file with period photographs, original buff logbook, and records of considerable work undertaken during the last fifty years….
Available for viewing now at our premises near York.

1926 ASTON MARTIN S-TYPE SPORTS
EARLS COURT SHOW CAR

1928 Earl’s Court show car
Rare T-Type wet sump engine
3rd oldest Bertelli designed cars remaining
Fully restored by Ecurie Bertelli during the mid-2000s
Owned and used in the Punjab, India, for most of its life

We are delighted to offer for sale one of the earliest Aston Martins from the Bertelli era, TS10.  This wonderful car was the company’s first ‘Standard Sports Model’ and was in pride of place for their 1928 stand at the Earls Court Show; it was one of their earliest short-chassis cars carrying a light 2 seat body. The car was acquired by the Maharajah of Patiala and was taken to his residence in the Punjab, India.

Any record of TS10 was lost for many years apart from it being offered for sale in 1967 by Mr. Paraamjit of Lucknow Uttar Pradesh. It then went off the radar again until it resurfaced again in the early 2000s – not only in a poor state but quite literally in pieces. The original engine and worm drive rear axle were sadly no longer with the car, however, Andy Bell of Ecurie Bertelli, managed to source the last known correct wet sump engine, number TS18 and manufacture a new rear axle. The car was restored by Andy during the mid-2000s and now presents in excellent, restored condition and finished in a distinctive yellow color which is believed to be the colour it was painted for most of its time in India.
