1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 LITRE ROADSTER

Chassis number 1E1646 is one of just 862 4.2 Litre OTS examples produced in RHD. To put this into perspective, a total of 16,195 4.2 Litre E-Types were built and 6,749 of these were OTS examples, meaning UK RHD OTS cars made up just 5% of 4.2 Litre production.
She spent most her early life on The South coast in the Brighton and Hove area before being bought in 1988 by the third owner, a Mr. Christopher H. Avery of Berkshire. Prior to purchase Mr. Avery had the car inspected by Chris Keith-Lucas of Lynx Cars who reported that it was in average to good condition
cosmetically, bodywork was generally good, but the floors would need attention, especially the torsion bar mounts. Mechanically the engine ran well but the gearbox was slightly noisy due to what he thought was a worn layshaft. His conclusion was that it was a sound purchase and that the areas that needed rectifying were straight forward for any competent specialist. Upon completing the purchase, Mr. Avery soon contacted a local specialist to quote for a full nut and bolt restoration of ‘Gus’, as the E-Type had become known to the Avery family. After a quote of £20,000 (nearly £50,000 today) the decision was made to go ahead and in November 1989, ‘Gus’ was taken to the Cuckmere Carriage Company in East Sussex and a near two year long restoration began.
The car was stripped to a bare shell and blasted back to bare metal with all rust being removed and the shell being prepped and painted in Carmen Red with rust proofing being applied to all areas, including injection into the cavities and crevices, as well as stone guard being applied. All mechanical components were rebuilt, the entire car was re-wired using a new loom, all chrome was stripped and re-chromed and the interior was stripped and retrimmed in Black hide with white piping and a brand new mohair hood was fitted. In July 1991 the Avery family were reunited with ‘Gus’ and were thrilled with the results, according to correspondence on file. They would enjoy the car for number of years until 1995 when the car was available for sale at the E-Type Centre in Chilcote, Staffordshire.
It was here that the previous and fourth owner saw the car and bought it in October 1995 when the car was showing just 45,000 miles. Since then the car has been sparingly used, taken out on high days and holidays, including the previous owners wedding day, when he drove his new bride away from the church in ‘Gus’. Over this time the car was taken annually to G.Windle & Son in Malvern, a well-known specialists in a number of marques and known for having a wide array of exotic machinery, including having a Ferrari 250 TR on a ramp during one visit by the owner at the time. Here the car would be serviced and checked over prior to its MOT. New tyres were fitted in 2015 and today show very little wear. In late 2015 the hard decision was made to sell the Jaguar and we sold it to a good friend of the company who has owned some fabulous motor cars over the years. Upon purchasing the car, the decision was made to respray the car in Opalescent Silver Grey, a stunning colour similar that of the owner’s DB7 Zagato and DB6. After stripping the car to a shell the car was taken for paint and during the rebuild the decision was made to renew/rebuild certain parts, these include:
·       All bushes replaced with road specification polyurethane items
·       Full Gearbox rebuild including new clutch and gearbox mounts
·       Full stainless steel exhaust system
·       New exhaust manifolds
·       Triple SU carburetors cleaned and rebuilt
·       New Koni shock absorbers
·       All rubber seals replaced
·       Boot retrimmed in Black
·       Conversion to spin on oil filter
·       Renewal of all brake pipes and hoses
Now showing a genuine 49,311 miles from new with MOT’s dating back to 1973, this wonderful motor car offers the new owner an opportunity to buy the most desirable example of the E-Type family, with the added benefit of low, warranted mileage, a small number of owners and a recent recommissioning.

1980 ASTON MARTIN LAGONDA
Series II

ou don’t have to be a petrolhead to appreciate the impact that this wedge shaped Aston Martin had on the motoring world (if not the world in general) when it was first introduced in 1976. It was a complete phenomenon and instantly became one of the most desirable cars available.

Famously designed by William Towns, the wedge-shaped styling contrasted sharply with other cars of its day, as unconventional a design then as it is now. The Lagonda combined striking styling with opulent, club-like leather interior, and then-state-of-the-art instrumentation. A heady mix that that left every generation of car enthusiast craving for just a glimpse of the real thing.

These hand-built Lagondas were among the most expensive saloons in the world and as such represent incredible value for money at present price levels. The Lagonda was also renowned for being the first production car in the world to use computer management and a digital instrument panel, in 1976!

Graceful, refined, tasteful and timeless, now is definitely the time to purchase this iconic ‘statement’ on wheels.

Overlooked by some in recent times, fashions change, and there is no doubt that the stunning Lagonda of the 1970s is now becoming more and more desirable, both to enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Difficult to find in such ‘cared for’ condition, this particular car has had the same owner for the last 16 years. An Aston Martin Owners Club member, he has lovingly maintained the Lagonda throughout his charge.

Supplied complete with a history file, work documented includes; cylinder heads stripped, all new crankshaft bearings, unleaded conversion in 2013 and new paint around 20 years ago.

A great opportunity for anyone looking to purchase an Aston Martin classic that is extremely individual, but is also offered at a reasonable price.

JAGUAR E-TYPE  4.2Litre

What needs to be said about the E Type?  Still a total head turner even today. When it was announced in 1961 it caused a sensation. Production ended in 1976 with the V12. The car went through a few iterations and 3 distinct engine sizes from the 3.8 litre to the 5.3 litre.

The car offered as a mid period model.  It’s a what was called the series 1.5 which featured the 4.2 litre version of the venerable XK engine. We bought this car in the US from a well know Jaguar collector and have just polished it a made it ready for sale.

Finished in suitably elegant colours of Maroon with Tan interior and with a Cream Mohair Hood it’s a very glamorous combination. The wire wheels are in fabulous condition and the car presents very well. We have got it running very smoothly and it benefits from new radiators, fans and a clutch master cylinder the car is ready to be driven.

We bought this car to restore but its actually good enough to be used as is. However it can be used as a rolling restoration or can have a complete restoration and upgrades.
We offer
5 Speed gearboxes
Power steering
Modern braking and electrics amongst others.
Please let us know your requirements.
MOT on sale
Full service on sale
£165000 Fully restored to an agreed specification.

1962 ASTON MARTIN DB4

Series 5 Vantage

£495,000

The DB4 was launched in October 1958 as the replacement to the successful DB2 and DB MKIII. However the new car owed nothing to its predecessor, being built with a new chassis courtesy of Harold Beach, body design by 'Touring' of Milan and a brand new 6 cylinder engine designed by Aston Martin's talented Polish engineer, Tadek Marek. The DB4 evolved over time with many improvements until its final iteration, the series 5, was introduced in September 1962. The series 5 cars were increased in length by 3', had faired-in headlamps, modified brakes, GT instruments, overdrive as standard and of course offered with the option of the more powerful Vanatge engine. Only 90 series 5 Vantage cars were built before production started on the almost indistinguishable DB5 in July 1963. This DB4 Series 5 Vantage was first registered in December 1962 by Callanders Garages Glasgow to a Mr Godfrey Scarth from Aberfoyle Perthshire. The factory specification was Desert White with Black Connolly as you see it today. Mr Scarth kept a meticulous log book of every single maintenance event undertaken on the car until the point he sold it in 1985. Subsequent owners continued with this log along with many invoices that make up the comprehensive history file that accompanies the car. The car has continued to be maintained to a high standard yet remains in a wonderfully original condition with a lovely patina of age.

1963 MORRIS J2 PARALANIAN CAMPER

The name Paralanian comes from Parry Lane in Bradford where Central Garage Ltd built these wonderful campers between 1956 and 1965.
At the time they were considered the very best you could buy which is not surprising as their selling price of £1350 in 1963 could have bought two local terraced houses.

This very rare example was built using the Morris J2 and was given the registration number 343BDL before being delivered to its first owner on the Isle of Wight in June 1963.

In the following 30 years it only covered 33000 miles but by 1993 it was in a sorry state of repair and was sold at auction for the grand sum of £35.
It was then subject to a five year ground up restoration which was finally completed in early 2002. This restoration was recorded with dozens of photographs which are now presented in three albums which can be seen in the documentation section below.

An important upgrade during the restoration was the replacement of the original 1489cc B-Series engine with a larger capacity 1798cc B-Series engine in order to keep pace with modern traffic.
It was then shown with pride at classic camper shows where it won numerous prizes including Best Coach Built Camper, Members Choice for Best in Show and the Classic Camper Club Best in Show at the National Camper Rally held that year in Uttoxeter.
It is still in excellent condition.

The large history file contains the current V5, previous registration documents, previous MOT certificates, the three albums filled with photographs showing the comprehensive restoration, the original brochures, the original auction invoice from 1993 and a three page article about this camper from the December 2002 edition of Classic Van & Pick-up magazine
The current MOT runs until August 2017 and the car will be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner at no cost as the car qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
The current mileage is now only 46561.
The camper will provide excellent classic holiday motoring and is likely to be an excellent investment.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and see it in our Leeds showroom.
