Our barn find Citroen Traction Avant is road worthy and can be enjoyed on road or on muddy or dirt track. But would you?
I invite you to read a unique story below.
Model history
Our Yacco Traction Avant is believed (we are currently investigating) to be the sole survivor of a series of 3 or 4 cars built by an independent Citroen garage in 60s, in the Drome region, whose owner was competing in dirt track racing series in France.
Built to win, the designer had weight saving in mind and his achievements are clearly visible in many areas of the car, such as the seats which belong to an Alouette II helicopter, weight saving fuel tank, as well as the fitting of many perforated parts in the engine bay. To complete his work, the car has been modified by having a reduced roof line (shortened by 20 centimetres’) and panels belonging to other Citroen models fitted to give her a more bullet like shape.
The usage of Yacco livery is currently a mystery and is being investigated.
A unique car with a unique history and we hope that you like her as much as we do.
