1962 HILLMAN MINX 1600 SERIES 3C

First time on the market in 55 years and with just 27,000 recorded miles, we are pleased to be able to offer this splendid Hillman Minx Series 3c in that lovely pastel green with oatmeal upholstery, a combination that works so well together. This one has the full-length front bench seat with floor gear change First sold new in May 1962 it then changed hands again one year later in May 1963 to Mr Rookard who retained the car up until 1990. The car was then sold as part of his estate by the executors in a sealed bid envelope type of auction and won by a main dealer garage proprietor. He retained the car but not registering it in his name, it would occasionally be used as a showroom exhibit (not for sale) but spent most of its years tucked up in bed in his own private garage. He did manage to put around 800miles on the clock in the first few years of ownership ‘odd local show etc’ evidence of four old mot cert’s, but after that, it was just a case of keeping the car up and running with a little maintenance thrown in when required

Naturally having the car squirrelled away for all this time has played a big part in the lovely unrestored and well-preserved condition we find it in today. The doors virtually close shut with your breath, panels all straight with a beautiful fit all round, upholstery is again a testimony to the mileage, and the underside shows no signs of rot or past repairs. Chrome still sparkles well but door handles are a little pitted if one wanted to be really picky. These curvy Hillmen are very easy on the eye and a real flashback to the 50s, that charming wraparound rear windscreen and the centre instrument panel looks like it was just removed from an aircraft. We have the original owners manual, BP service/ lubrication from Levittown garage in Cambridge, few old mots and the original brown buff log book along with Mr Rs driving licence from 1949. Front seat belts appear to have been installed from day one and the tool kit along with the spare wheel are all concealed in the boot. DEBIT / Credit / Cards taken along with other forms of payment. ( Delivery Service Available)

Must be seen to be believed. Undoubtedly the best 1946 Triumph Roadster 1800 in existence. And I challenge anyone to show me a better one or even one as good. Having undergone a total and utter nut and bolt body off restoration and is quite faultless in every conceivable way. She comes with the most unbelievable history file with full very detailed photographic evidence and bills of her complete rebuild right down to the last nut and bolt. She even has all her original tools in as new condition. Without doubt, would be a concours winner at any meeting. Also, having her original buff log book, all manuals and retaining her original registration number, an all matching numbers car. Being admired at every show she is driven to. She looks like a brand new car in the showroom from 1946 and is just too perfect to describe in detail. It is guaranteed the first person to see this car will have to own it.
