1965 NSU SPIDER WANKEL

With the launch of the Ewald Praxl-designed Prinz in 1957, NSU had re-established itself as a car manufacturer in its own right after a break of 28 years. Only a few years later, the German firm would stun the motoring world when it introduced the first rotary-engined production car: the Wankel Spider. Launched in 1963, the Spider was the first motoring application of Dr Wankel's rotary 'piston' concept, which used a rotor with three convex sides rotating eccentrically in a figure-of-eight-shaped chamber. Its first application was as a compressor or supercharger, the first actual engine being tested in 1957. This new power unit went into a roadster version of the Bertone-styled Sport-Prinz. Sadly, Wankel's concept was ahead of the available technology, and the engine was bedevilled by rotor tip sealing problems. Subsequent developments by Mazda would see these largely overcome, and the latest tip-seal technology has been incorporated into this car's engine. Modern improvements mean that rotary engines are now regularly running for 100,000 miles. In three years of production, NSU sold somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 Wankel Spiders, and survivors are relatively rare today.

This stunning rare example was supplied new in the UK in 1965 and this actual car was featured in Motor Magazine dated 22nd May, 1965. This article includes photos with the car wearing the same reg number as today, a road test and report. Purchased by the last owner in 1980 from marque specialists RoTechniks of Grazely, he then commissioned a last nut and bolt restoration and conversion to RHD. This work took several years to complete. RoTechniks carried out the mechanics. The body and paintwork was carried out by Nigel Cooper Restorations. In 2006 the engine was sent to Dr M Fabritius in Germany for a complete rebuild at a cost of £4500. The huge comprehensive history file contains Invoices totalling £76,000 and correspondence for works carried out, a copy of Motor Magazine from 1965, The Original green logbook showing NSU Great Britain of Curzon St W1 as the first owner, the original factory repair manual, Original Handbook, Original Tools, spare Keys etc. This super rare car has factory hard and soft tops, is in fantastic condition and drives suberbly. For sale for less than half the restoration costs

1961 CHEVROLET CORVETTE
SPORTS CONVERTIBLE

  Chassis Number:  10867S104215
This 1961 manual Chevrolet Corvette was owned by the same lady from new in January 1961 right up until 2007, and we have all the paperwork relating to her (and subsequent!) ownership in one very large file. She lived close to San Francisco, and we also still have the original California 'Black Plates' for this car. This wonderful cherished and original car has since had a light refurbish to keep it in tip top condition, and it drives very well indeed. It has both removable hard, and concealed soft tops, and it looks superb whether open or closed.

The meaty manual four speed shifter has a very positive action and the car feels fast, secure, and solid on the road. It also sounds more like a motor boat than a car, of course! It also has been fitted with aircon, and the whole car has just been serviced, MOT'd and thoroughly gone through by our mechanic. It is in exceptional condition in all This car represents the optimism and love of the futuristic so much part of America in the early 'jet age' and is, of course, an exceedingly rare sight on UK roads. A real head-turner. Available for viewing in Dorset.

1956 FIAT 1100 103 TV (TURISMO VELOCE) BERLINA €38,000

Nice early Italian race history. Stanguellini prepared. Importantly, the 1100 TV is eligible for the Mille Miglia and thus represents a relatively inexpensive means of participation in this prestigious historic event. A very well documented car. The Fiat Company has very deep roots in the automotive industry, mostly in production, but some in racing. The legendary tuner, Abarth, helped to increase the popularity and success of Fiat cars during the 1950s and 1960s, and achieve many victories around Europe. The Fiat 500 and 600 were small, mass-produced cars and a big key to the companys prosperity during the 1950s and 1960s. The 1100 TV Fiat was a mild-deviation into the inexpensive sports car arena. Production began in the early 1950s and continued through 1958. It was distinguishable by its split, recessed grille, roll-up windows, and wraparound windshield. Under the hood was a 1,089 cc four-cylinder overhead-valve engine and drive arrived at the rear wheels via a four-speed gearbox. The 1100 was praised for its comfortable ride, impressive performance for the time and exceptional handling. Entirely redesigned as a compact four-door sedan in 1953 the 1100 received its new name, 1100/103 after its project number. Along with modern monocoque bodywork, the 1100/103 featured integrated front lights and was available in two different versions; the economic and normal The cheaper and standard models were joined with a sporty version in the fall of 1953, the 1100TV (Turismo Veloce). This sporty sibling featured a third light in the middle of the grille and bumped up 50 PS (37 kW) in place of the normal 36 PS (26 kW) of the regular models. Drivers could opt for the station-wagon version also with a side-hinged fifth door at the rear

1957 MGA MkI COUPE

The MGA roadster was announced on 26 September 1955 and officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show with the Coupe following a year later in September 1956. Styled by Syd Enever the design was based on the lessons learnt from the record-breaking efforts of the factory works team and the final result is arguably one of the prettiest cars ever produced by the Abingdon factory
Our rare RHD home market car was registered on 28th October 1957 (first full year of production) and is finished in the original colour combination of mineral blue (available on Mk1 coupes only) with the grey leather interior. The first owner, Harry Varley, bought the MGA to use mainly for golfing trips and sold the car to his brother in 1959.  His family learnt to drive in the car and son Roger completed a 4,500 trip around Europe in 1964 after which the car was sold.
Roger traced/purchased the car again in 1986 and immediately commenced a full labour of love restoration at marque specialists Peter Wood’s that took two years and cost over £12,000 - a figure far in excess of market value at the time – and used her sparingly thereafter
In 2012 the next owner upgraded the car by fitting a five-speed Type 9 Ford gearbox making the car very capable of keeping up with modern traffic.
The large history file contains original driver’s book, buff log book, old MOT’s, invoices, details of previous owners, magazine articles about the car etc.
Today this super desirable car has covered just 8,000 since the restoration thirty years ago, looks stunning and drives superbly with brisk acceleration and 70mph cruising.  Equally at home at Goodwood, cruising through France or simply a trip to the local pub this car will give years of pleasure to the new keeper
PRICE: £25995
