1968 MERCURY COUGAR
Mercury joined the ‘pony car race’ with its Cougar in 1967.  It was in most respects a restyled Ford Mustang but with a chassis 3 inches longer than its Ford sibling but otherwise housing the same 302 V8 engine and Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
This 1968 car is finished in its original colours of Madras Blue and Light Aqua Décor Bucket Seats.  The car has been well maintained with a significant overhaul in 2015 when the car was repainted, a new Edelbrock carburetor was fitted (this upgrade makes a huge difference to the performance and smooth running of the car), new bushes were fitted, new fuel lines and air cleaner among other work.  The car has a good history file with 50+ invoices showing the care and detail that has gone into it, there is also a Marti report on the car and as a nice touch it still has it original handbooks, sales brochures and original owner warranty card.
The car is MOT’d through to September 2017 and is ready to go
A classic 1960s pony car in a great colour combination and a good history file to back it up.

1960 FORD THUNDERBIRD V8 352Cu

Offered for sale an exceptional matching numbers 1960 Ford Thunderbird with superbly well documented history.
Advertised in 1960 as the ‘Worlds Most Wanted Car’, this Thunderbird was ordered new through the Pearson Ford Co. San Diego dealership as a husbands Christmas gift to his wife. The ‘original’ hand written order sheet, dated 19th November 1960 shows the car was specified with the following options.

  • Ford Thunderbird Hardtop with 352 cu/in V8 Motor.
  • Adriatic Green with matching two-tone green interior.
  • Cuise-O-Matic gearbox.
  • Magicare Heater.
  • Console Radio.
  • Tinted Glass.
  • Outside Mirrors.
  • Power Lift Windows.
  • Power Drivers Seat.
  • Power Brakes.
  • Power Steering.

With a purchase price of $5010 less dealer discount, a sizeable amount of money for a car back in 1960 there is no surprise to see the owner needed finance and the history folder even contains a letter from the bank thanking the owners for the final instalment in Jan 1964. Reading further on into 2” History folder it is great to see the car was obviously loved and cosseted by her owners as in 1969, with 36,000miles on the clock the T-Bird was put into storage and remained there until 1980 when the owners, Howard and Edna Hoffman, now resurrected the Thunderbird. Giving her a fresh re-paint she was entered in the Vintage Thunderbird Club of America Concours Awards in 1982, now showing 40,461 miles on the clock, and scored 287 points out of 300, and the following year coming first in class with 288/300 points.

Move forward to 1990 and the T-Bird finally left the Hoffmans and also the USA and was imported into the UK. Still in stunning condition the Thunderbird has featured in a number of Classic Car periodicals, the book ‘Ford T-Bird' and been seen at various shows it was again sold in 1991 having now covered 45,000 miles to the Treasurer of the Association of American Car Clubs UK. During this time she reached the finals of the Classic American Car of the Year in 1993 and later that year had the engine re-built by Holbay Engineering in Ipswich. Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. The V8 fires easily and settles into a distant burble, never intrusive, as should be exepected for a luxury sedan. The 3 speed auto operates smoothly and the 'Power' brakes have a firm bite, giving plenty of reasurance whilst out for a cruise.

After an appearance in the TV show ‘Lovejoy' in 1994 records indicate that she has been cherished by 3 further owners and that mileage, now, of 58,500, although not warranted is more than likely genuine, with 17 previous MOT’s supporting her mileage.
This remarkable Thunderbird is an real gem. The bodywork remains in very good condition, I belive she has only had the one repaint, back in the early 80's. Panel gaps are consistent around the car and there is no evidence of any rust, just a couple of age related marks, none of which detract from the car. She attracts admiring glances wherever she's driven and will often draw a crowd if stationary for any length of time. We have had the car on the ramps in our workshop and can confirm the car has never had any underbody welding, staggering for a 56yr old car! Chrome work remains very good and the interior, as far as we can tell, is completely original and in remarkable condition, with working electric seats etc, she even comes with a set of Thunderbird over mats (you'll even find her oiginal ones in the trunk).
The looks are classic 1960’s Americana and sitting in and driving the car you really feel transported back to the days of Space race, the Kennedys’ and cruising the Pacific Coast Highway, where this car spent so many happy memories with the Hoffman family. Offered with an MOT to March 2017, Original bill of sale, Original Owners Manual, copies of Thunderbird articles, her Concours Award score sheets, countless records / bills, Ford Thunderbird overmats this is a car is one for the real enthusiast.

1980 ROLLS ROYCE SILVER SHADOW
ONLY 3,800 MILES FROM NEW

Honey Gold over Walnut, This is not a misprint, only 3800 miles from new ! Supplied by Mann Eggerton in January 1980, to her first custodian, a wealthy lady property heiress, who covered just 1500 miles in 5 years of ownership. The car then passed to her second and only keeper in January 1985, supplied again by Mann Eggerton, Herts, with sales invoice still present in the cars history file. The car was used extremely sparingly, covering minimal miles during summer months over the next 14 year period, gaining a full hydraulic service by RR&B of Bromsgove in 1999, before being laid up in dry storage in a cocoon ever since ! Now having received a thorough re commissioning to bring back to life, this car just simply surpassed all expectations during test. Smooth as silk, and simply in a different league to even low mileage cars under 30k miles I have handled previously. This is as close an experience to owning a brand new Silver Shadow as you will ever come ! Simply breathtaking, for less than one tenth of the price of an Aston DB5 ! SORRY - NOW RESERVED, £59,950

1931 Sunbeam 18.2 Saloon

Price: £29,995
7
This is a wonderful rare find. The Sunbeam 18.2 was a bored out version of the company mainstay, the Sunbeam 16hp. The increase in bore from 67mm to 70mm gave a useful 2,398cc and was built alongside the larger engined New 20. The Sunbeam 18.2 is accepted by the VSCC in their PVT (Post Vintage Thoroughbred) list showing just how well respected this model really is and expanding the wide range of events in which it can be used. This fabulous, original example was first registered on the 25th July 1931 and delivered new to a Mr Ramsey of Huyton, near Liverpool where the car spent thirty six years. GP 7592 changed hands for the first time in 1967, moving across Liverpool to Wallasey staying with its second owner 43 years. The car has wonderful provenance, not just having two owners in almost seventy years, but in also retaining a mechanical history since August 1932 when the car had 11,164 miles. The mechanical log records a complete overhaul by Challis of Manchester between the 2nd November and 10th December 1959 and records for ongoing maintenance run to 1967. The rare Sunbeam was unused from 1970 to 2010 and since 2010 the car has been treated to a top end engine overhaul including new valves, springs and guides. The sump has been removed, bearings checked, the brakes overhauled, seals and hoses replaced and the water pump modified. The Sunbeam has an almost complete tool kit including a Sunbeam tyre pump which looks unused, original handbook, Autovac booklet and some lovely original documentation including the mechanical notes since 1932, original 'buff' logbook and MOT's back to 1965. The Sunbeam is substantially original, even the paintwork although the wings were restored in 1967. Also in 1967 the carpets were replaced and the wheels painted.
Finding a car of this age so original is difficult these days. This has to be one of the most original 1930's cars we have owned and it has so much charm and patina. The car is in remarkably strong condition, likely as a direct result of the meticulous maintenance during the cars years in use. The first owner had been meticulous in keeping the vehicle records up to date and during its time off the road from 1970, the Sunbeam was dry stored and kept in fine fettle. GP 7295 has an excellent strong chassis and underside, solid bodywork, largely original paintwork that shows its age yet does not detract from what is a wonderful beautiful car. The car has been treated to some brightwork over the years and has recently been fitted with new tyres. The interior is wonderful with a delightful patina. The upholstery is a clear indication of how well the car has been cared for and maintained. The inside of the Sunbeam retains quality, luxury and a wonderful honest feel.
The Sunbeam boasts a strong engine, robust gearbox and generally very good mechanicals. Brakes have been recently overhauled, the car drives incredibly well with good performance coming from the 16hp engine and this is a pre-war that can be regularly used and has proven reliable. GP 7295 comes with a VSCC eligibility document from 2011 and is certainly capable of long distance touring and regular use. This is not a show car, but an incredibly usable Sunbeam that has to be one of the most original of its type left in existence. The car has everything in terms of originality, provenance, paperwork, reliability, usability and of course the quality and luxury coming from a top class British manufacturer of its day. This is an unrepeatable opportunity not to be missed.Finding a car of this age so original is difficult these days. MG B Works - BRX 854B

The story of this special MGB roadster begins in 1964. Being built by Den Green and Knobby Hall in August at the MG competition shop at Abingdon and first registered on the 13th of August 1964, it was one of the first MGB roadsters built by the factory in 1964 and one of the two works rally cars. The other being BRX 853B. Both cars were entered into the 1964 Spa-Sofia-Liege Rally but unfortunately both retired with clutch problems. Both MGB’s were also entered into the 1964 RAC rally in November, with 854B being driven by John Fitzpatrick but retired after an accident. It was raced on four occasions in 1965 by its new owner, Ken Tubman and navigated by George Stefanoff. These events were the Tulip Rally, the Acropolis Rally, the Geneva Rally and the Castrol Dunabe Rally in September, it was of that year where BRX 854B posted a pleasing result of Third in Class, and 13th Overall.

Travelling extensively over Europe taking advantage of its long range fuel tank, it was on one such journey to Scotland that mechanical failure forced BRX 854B not to return home. The result was that this wonderful vehicle disappeared into enclosed garaging for some 32 years under the ownership of Mr John Sales. In 2007 and under new ownership, the B underwent a meticulous and sympathetic restoration.  The work was carried out by MGB enthusiast Mark Tipping at his body shop: P & T Repairs of Byfleet. Following the completion of the restoration the car was unveiled by Steven Skinner at a re-launch of the historic MGB at Goodwood Motor Circuit on Wednesday 12th March 2008.

The body is the original works MGB monocoque with aluminium, wings, door skins, bonnet, boot lid and works hardtop with Mini Van roof vent. The refurbished cockpit boasts orignal seats and dashboard with all auxiliary switches as fitted in 1964. Under the bonnet sits the Works 3 bearing engine as fitted when it was profesionally racing.
This car has a very comprehensive history which complements a very beautiful motor vehicle.
The detailed and intricate history of the car has been compiled into a thorough report by Mr John Baggot (Motor sport historian, author and writer from Tunbridge Wells, Kent).

1988 BENTLEY EIGHT
2 Owners, Bentley Service History

This is a superb example which only became available through bereavement. The car has covered just 57,000 miles with Bentley main dealer service history, the service records detailing previous maintenance at 3027, 6057, 10142, 13445, 17385, 24249, 28397, 30492, 33938, 38901, 42455, 45249, 48549, 51918, 53030, 54376 and 55127 miles, all services having been carried out by Bentley. In addition to the stamped service book we have a collection of old MOT's for the vehicle and MOT history from VOSA. Current MOT June 2016 with no advisory notices.
Purchased in 1991 by an elderly gentleman from the original owner with just 13,000 miles, the car was retained by the gentleman until his passing in 2006. During this time the car was serviced exclusively by Bentley main agents. Upon his passing ownership was transferred to the gentleman's daughter who retained the car as a memento of her father, only recently making the decision to part with the car. During her tenure the lady kept the car MOT'd and had basic servicing attended to and covered less than 2000 miles in the last ten years.

We collected this car from the owner's rural home where we were made most welcome. On inspection the engine oil was spotlessly clean and the car started instantaneously, settling down to a smooth idle with no tappet noise. On test drive the car performed faultlessly with a smooth gearchange, seamless power delivery, well controlled ride, excellent braking and no slop in the steering. We drove the car almost 200 miles back to our premises, the car cruising effortlessly at the motorway limit giving us no cause for concern whatsoever. This car has definitely not been left languishing, the owner insisting it has been taken for rural trips on a reasonably regular basis to keep it operating correctly.

Finished in striking Vermillion which looks absolutely stunning, the interior is trimmed in cream hide piped red with red top roll, cream bottom roll and red carpets which are protected by red lambs wool over rugs. The rugs have faded somewhat over the years but have protected the carpets well. The rear compartment is equipped with footstools and reading lights. This car benefits from the Mulsanne chrome grille with flying "B" emblem.
The condition of the car is quite exceptional for the age with both bodywork and interior in excellent order, the car belies it's almost 30 years of age showing minimal signs of wear and no damage to the woodwork, all very attractive indeed.
Specification of the period to include electric seats with memories, split level climate control air conditioning, Pioneer stereo with boot mounted CD changer, cruise control, town and country horns, electric windows front and rear, electric mirrors, central locking, headlamp washers, trip odometer, 15 inch alloy wheels with matching Avon Turbospeed narrow band whitewall tyres all round.

Supplied with original keys, original book pack containing owners manuals, stamped service book etc.
The vehicle will be fully prepared upon sale and supplied with a new MOT with no advisory notices. Interesting part exchange considered.
This is an exceptionally striking example in superior condition with low ownership and an excellent main dealer service record. Cars with this provenance are few and far between.
Classic Car Warehouse, prestige and performance cars, classic and modern. A family business established over 28 years, Rolls Royce and Bentley specialists.
N.B. Our premises are not a traditional car showroom, all our vehicles are stored indoors in a secure facility and it is not possible to view our cars when we are not there. We travel extensively sourcing and collecting cars so all viewings must therefore be arranged by appointment, thank you.
