1984 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 3.2 LTR ENGINE 

 LHD TARGA RED WITH TAN INTERIOR

This Porsche 911 Carrera has been total re-painted, interior re-upholstered with all new rubber seals and Targa top re-trimmed, the car if fitted with 16” Fuchs wheels and brand new continental tyres.  The car complete with its original spare wheel, jack & tool kit.

With the 911’s future assured, 1983 saw the launch of a replacement for the successful SC series. It was the MY 1984 911 3.2 Carrera, reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1975. The 911 3.2 Carrera was the last iteration in the original 911 series, with all subsequent models featuring new body styling with new brake, electronic and suspension technologies.

A new, higher-displacement motor, a 3.2-liter horizontally opposed flat 6 cylinder, was utilized. At the time, Porsche claimed it was 80% new. The new swept volume of 3164 cc was achieved using the 95 mm (3.7 in) bore (from the previous SC model) combined with the 1978 Turbo 3.3 crankshaft's 74.4 mm (2.9 in) stroke. In addition, higher domed pistons increased the compression ratio. New inlet manifold and exhaust systems were fitted. The 915 transmission was carried over from the SC series for the first three model years. In 1987, the Carrera got a new five-speed gearbox sourced from Getrag, model number G50 with proven Borg-Warner synchronizers. This slightly heavier version also featured a hydraulically operated clutch.

1982 FERRARI MONDIAL EIGHT

The Ferrari Mondial was designed by Pininfarina of Turin and built by Ferrari between 1980 and 1993 and is the perfect Ferrari for the enthusiast who needs the advantage of 2 child seats. The engine, transmission, suspension and steering are all either identical to or very similar to the 2 seater models such as the 328 GTB produced at the same time. Today the Mondial is considered to be one of Ferraris most practical designs as despite the 4 seat accommodation, the design loses none of its sports car appeal. 1970 FORD Mk 1 ESCORT RALLY CAR

A unique opportunity to buy a beautiful car that was specially commissioned for the Peking Paris 2016 rally and built by the industry renowned Dave Jenkins. 

With the highest specifications possible and all the latest competition upgrades for this vehicle type, this Mk 1 rally ready Escort is unlike any other and bears no relation to anything else on the market. Effectively brand new, never raced or rallied, with the all-important FIA log book, and competition ready, this car has a fully documented build history. 

Due to a change of personal circumstances the vendor has very reluctantly placed this rally ready car up for sale. 

Supplied with a new MOT and license. 

Purchase price is a reflection of the build costs. Viewing of all bills and documentation of the build by the renowned Dave Jenkins Motorsport is a must.

Bodyshell

Newly built from a bare right hand drive shell, fully soda blasted, seam welded and fabricated to Group IV (legal) historic specification to include short rear links, turrets, gussets and all legal strengthening.  Multi-point weld-in roll cage, steel wheel arches etc. and painted throughout to customer specification.

Interior

The car is wired to aircraft standard with custom loom, with full instrumentation and tripmeter on twin binnacle dashboard.

Sparco seats and TRS 3” full harness belts, flocked dash, suede steering wheel, heated front screen.

The whole car is piped in aeroquip hosing and connections to include brakes, fuel and oil lines.

Suspension & Brakes

Suspension is all Bilstein equipment to include turreted rear shock absorbers, front fully adjustable legs with alloy platforms and roller bearing top mounts. 

Brakes are disc all round combination with AP Monte front calipers with vented disks on alloy bells, with twin rear calipers and solid discs, hydraulic handbrake and bias pedal box.

2.25:1 high ratio steering rack, world cup cross member and brackets.

Engine/Gearbox

Engine is an all steel 1700cc Sherwood crossflow unit running on twin 45 Webers carburettors with dry sump system and electronic ignition.  Twin plate AP clutch, ZF 5 speed (overdrive) gearbox, quick released alloy bellhousing and single piece propshaft.  Tony Law large bore manifold and exhaust system.

Axle

Rear axle is a wide Atlas unit running 5.1 Atlas limited slip differential and fitted with alloy brace.  Latest specification 4 link and panhard rod mountings.

Misc 

Boot area includes extra-long range alloy foam filled fuel tank, dry sump tank, twin facet fuel pumps, spare wheel post and competition battery.

Car runs on genuine Minilites (7” rear and 6” front), full length sump and gearbox guards.  

The car has been built to comply with RACMSA Historic regulations and is currently in gravel specification.  Car can easily be adapted to asphalt specification if required.

MODEL HISTORY

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was a sports derivative and rally homologation special of the fifth generation Ford Escort. It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship.  It was available as a road car from 1992-96 in limited numbers from Ford’s Specialist Vehicle Engineering, (SVE), team.  It combines the hand-assembled engine expertise of Cosworth and the coach-building crafts of Karmann.  In order to accommodate the larger Cosworth engine and transmission Ford developed the car around the chassis and mechanicals of its predecessor, the Sierra Cosworth.  A very rare car with only 7,145 examples being produced.  (Source Wikipedia, 1995 Edition One RS Brochure and the RS Owners Club).
