1973 TRIUMPH GT6 Mk III

We are delighted to offer this fantastic driving, genuine and largely original Triumph GT6 MKIII onto the market. The HKC 620L has covered 94,000 miles from new, backed up with MOT certificates dating back to 1977 and is a car that can really be used, driven and enjoyed with absolute confidence. We originally took the GT6 in part exchange against a Triumph TR6 and drove the car to North Yorkshire from the Lake District. Before even marketing the car, it sold to one of our regular customers and to prove reliability further, we drove the car to South Yorkshire faultlessly. HKC 620L has since been covering low, local mileage and has now returned to us in part exchange against an Austin Healey 3000MKII.
This GT6 was supplied new with rare rear seat and spent its early life in Liverpool. We have MOT records at 16764 miles in Liverpool 5 in 1977 and by 1978 the car was near Warrington. During the early 1980's the GT6 was in Widnes and from 1986 Wigan, later Bolton, really finding its way around the North West. In 1989 the car moved to South Wales before a return to the North West in 1993 when the car was in Eccles, Manchester. The Triumph was taken off the road in Manchester in 1996 with a mileage of 72,693 and was back on the road again by 2005 when the car returned to Wales but this time staying North. Prior to briefly being with us in North Yorkshire, the GT6 was up in the Lakes and has since spent time in South Yorkshire. Now with 94,000 miles recorded, with the support of a good maintenance file and many MOT certificates, we can see this is a superbly maintained, largely original car that is capable of regular, reliable use and suits all year round driving.
HKC 620L presents very well with a stunning paint finish having being treated to a recent full re-paint. The bodywork is in lovely order and boasts clean, straight panels. The chrome work is original and whilst not gleaming as new, appears presentable and really highlights this has never been left to deteriorate like so many example did. The upholstery is very well presented with smart carpets, lovely clean seats, door cards, headlining and dashboard. On lifting the carpets, original Yellow floor pans can be seen and this again shows what a good, genuine car this is. On the road the GT6 is quite simply brilliant. The straight six engine has lots of power, pulls superbly with no smoke, good oil pressure and the gearbox is sharp, crunch free and the overdrive works perfectly. The GT6 handles exceptionally well and is lots of fun on the road. The car has recently been serviced and is ready to drive and enjoy. This is not a show winner, but a smart, very original car that is as honest as one could find.
