A Rare Opportunity to Acquire a Race-Prepared Classic

Chassis AM117*175*. This matching numbers 1973 Maserati Bora is one of only 44 cars made in right hand drive and features the full European specification including the 4.7litre engine. Originally yellow with black interior, the car was restored some years ago and at the same time to converted by its enthusiastic owner to racing specification in order to compete in the HSCC Roadsports Series here in the UK.
This preparation included an engine rebuild and some mild tuning including a full flow exhaust system, improvements to the suspension, brakes and cooling and substitution of glass for Perspex and other normal weight saving and safety improvement measures. However, regulations for this series are quite clear that the car can only be modified in certain areas and therefore this presents the next owner with a lot of choice.
The car is still road registered, though not currently MOT tested. All the original parts removed from the car are still present and correct and included in the sale. It could therefore be returned to original road going specification. Alternatively, if like the current owner, you feel that this is an area of racing that sees too few Maseratis, then you could take over racing the car and continue its development. Or why not see this as an opportunity to create a replica of the legendary Thepennier Le Mans Bora. Actually, there is a fourth option, why not just use it as it is on the road as it is as a very exciting road car…?
