1970 TRIUMPH STAG - ROBERT HUGHES AUTOMOBILES

"CLASSIC OF THE DAY"
Featuring

1970 TRIUMPH STAG

Ordered from Triumph’s stand at the Earls Court Motor Show in October 1970, this Stag was delivered to its first owner on The Isle of Man four weeks later and believed to be the first sold to the island .  Finished in Ermine White with Tan interior, It was admired by a fellow resident who eventually became the car’s second owner from 1976. This gentleman has treasured the ever car since preserving its originality , and although the Stag became surplus to requirements some time ago, it was retained by the owner for sentimental reasons. Even so, the car was not stored, but used by the owner solely as a conveyance to collect his morning newspaper from a local shop. We purchased the car directly from the owner and have had it appraised by a Stag specialist. As testament to this car’s condition, the underside is superb and original yet it has never received any rust proofing  other than the standard preparations at the time of manufacture. We have carefully bare metal stripped the original White paintwork only due to minor abrasions received over the years, and re- painted the car to a very high quality. The original Tan interior, hood and bright work has been revived with little more than thorough valeting  needed to restore it to show condition. A rare opportunity to purchase a completely genuine, unmodified example sympathetically prepared to show condition with automatic transmission and power steering. The car is now UK main land registered with a V5C and age related registration. The mileage is warranted at just 43,000 since new and the car has lovely early paperwork including the sales invoice and service book.
