Spotted in our regular trawl through the classifieds we came across this little number from Oldtimer Manchester, previously belonged to the late John Entwhistle of the British rock group The Who

1964 'THE WHO' FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE 

 

1964 'The Who' Ford Thunderbird Convertible - belonged to the late John Entwhistle of the British rock group The Who
Black with contrasting white interior. An absolute 60's American icon, this Thunderbird has all extras plus roadster kit making the car either a 4 or 2 seater.  It is also fitted with a continental kit comprising of continental kit and spare wheel on the rear bumper, chrome luggage rack, Kelsey Hayes wheels and signpost lights. The car is automatic transmission, power windows, power seats, power hood with power deck, air conditioning and rear spats. It has a V8 390 engine and the model was know as the 'Jetbird'. When it was introduced in 1964 it took the motoring world by storm. Not a restored car but a lovely unmolested example. An original example which has never been restored. Fantastic history; it belonged to John Entwhistle -  one of the foremost names in the rock industry, who alledgedly bought the car from Bo Diddley. The car is subject to a very flattering article in The Independant newspaper. The way values of celebrity owned cars are going this represents excellent value for money.  
NOTE: The car is the subject of a fantastic article in the January 2006 issue of Classic American Cars magazine. The registration number is no longer available with this car
