2009 LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 SVX
Limited Edition

MODEL HISTORY

The SVX is a special edition Land Rover Defender, introduced to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the iconic British 4×4. Limited to 1800 units worldwide, only 90 were made for the UK market. The original Land Rover made its debut at the Amsterdam show in 1948 and as the decades have gone by, nothing has matched the rugged and classless appeal of the brand, perhaps epitomised best by the Land Rover Defender. Legendary off road prowess, chunky yet classic and stylish good looks and approval from royalty, to farmers, to celebrities. A true British manufacturing success story.
The SVX shares its mechanical layout with the standard Defender and is powered by a four-cylinder, Ford turbodiesel engine with 2.4 litres of swept capacity. As befit of a limited edition model, it gains Recaro seats, different wheels and distinctive brightwork, including a silver coloured grilled and headlamp surround. The aesthetics are further enhanced by very subtle matt black decals set against the Santorini Black paintwork.

EQUIPMENT

Metallic paint, Alloy wheels, Soft top, External roll cage in silver, SVX edition lights, SVX edition grill, SVX edition decals, Recaro seats, Land Rover Garmin navigation, AC, heated seats, 12v socket, Cup holders, Electric windows, Spare wheel, Lockable storage box.

EXTERIOR

Brimming with a confident sense of style, the Defender 90 has never looked better than in the special edition, SVX soft top form.
The Santorini Black paintwork presents beautifully and is underscored by the subtle matte SVX decals. The special edition silver grille, light surrounds and roll cage, matched to the bright alloys, provide a sharp contrast to the dark paintwork.
The soft top is in good condition with clear windows, allowing alfresco motoring when the weather allows.

INTERIOR

Climb into the cockpit and you are greeted with a beautifully functional interior which benefits from SVX accoutrements including the very special Recaro seats, surely some of the most comfortable seating to be found in any Defender. There is little wear to report in the cabin with all switchgear in easy reach and working as it should. On proud display is the SVX limited edition plaque. This car is number 162.
Practicality is taken care of hood up or down, with a useful lockable storage box behind the two front seats.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The 2.4 litre engine is reliable with a smooth seamless delivery of torque low down in the rev range, exactly what is needed with a car of this nature. The engine bay presents cleanly. The transmission works as it should, giving a feeling of go-anywhere invincibility that a full-time four-wheel drive system coupled to a dual-transfer, six-speed manual, should give
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Protected by chunky off road rubber, the alloy wheels of this example are clean and free of any damage. The tyres are the aptly named General Grabber TR in 235/85/16 and show very significant tread – ready for adventures on and off the road.
